Labor/Employment Law
Freedman and Lorry's Labor Department represents private and public sector labor organizations whose members work in a variety of industries including transportation, construction, longshoring, health care, warehousing, manufacturing, and the arts.
Current clients include international, national, regional and local unions, as well as employee and pension benefit plans.
Our attorneys are involved in all phases of labor union representation, such as grievance arbitrations, collective bargaining negotiations, organizing, unfair labor practice proceedings before state and federal administrative agencies, and federal and state court litigation.
The Labor Department also represents individual workers who are the victims of discrimination based on race, sex, age, national origin or physical disability, as well as workers who are wrongfully denied a leave of absence for their own or a family member’s illness, in violation of the federal Family and Medical Leave Act.
