From 1980 through 1984,
she worked as a field attorney at the Philadelphia
Regional Office of the National Labor Relations Board,
where she was President of NLRBU Local 4. Ms. Lopez-Henriquez
is general counsel to the National Union of Hospital
and Health Care Employees, AFSCME, AFL-CIO and its
District 1199C and affiliated funds. She also
represents unions, employee benefit and pension funds
and individuals in labor relations, ERISA and
employment discrimination including arbitrations,
contract negotiations, federal and state court
litigation and National and Pennsylvania Labor
Relations Board proceedings. |

Ms. Lopez-Henriquez was
President of the Philadelphia Chapter of the
Industrial Relations Research Association in 1998-1999
and Vice President in 1997-1998. She served as
co-chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association Labor and
Employment Law Committee in 1994 and 1995. She is a past
member of the Board of Directors of the AFL-CIO
Lawyers Coordinating Committee and is currently on the
Boards of the Painted Bride Art Center and the Keystone
Research Center, which conducts research and education
on economic and public policy issues.
In addition to her professional activities in the
field of labor law, Ms. Lopez-Henriquez has long been
an activist on international labor rights and human
rights. She is a member of the Board of Directors of
the U.S./Labor Education in
the Americas Project, an organization which has been
extremely successful in providing assistance to unions
in Central and South America, through activities such
as corporate campaigns and successful petitions to the
U.S. Trade Representative. She has received awards for
her work in labor and human rights from the Jewish Labor
Committee and the Coalition of Labor Union Women. Ms.
Lopez-Henriquez has
also served as Secretary of the Philadelphia Bar
Association International Human Rights Fund.
Ms. Lopez-Henriquez is listed in The Best Lawyers in America,
Pennsylvania Super Lawyers 2004, 2005, and 2006, Who's Who in
American Law and Who's Who in America. She has been a
featured speaker at numerous conferences and seminars
on labor and employment law issues and international
labor rights. |
